STRUCTURAL FOAM MOLDING
Structural foam molding creates an extremely durable, lightweight product.
A mixture of resin and gas is shot under low pressure into an aluminum tool. Lower pressure allows for tooling that is less rigid and, therefore,
less expensive, relative to injection molding and high-pressure structural foam molding. This translates into cost
justifications for lower volume products, making low-pressure structural foam molding
applicable for programs where cast plastics and thermoforming
would be appropriate.
